Now that Web 2.0 is in full swing, you probably spend an hour or two every week to browse through your friends’ social network accounts and blogs. But did you know that this same routine could score you some regular free MP3 music downloads? It’s all a matter of being patient with the technology you use and knowing where to start looking. 

You probably know by now that there’s at least one blog for every topic ranging from fashion to travel. Many blogs nowadays specialize in music, and a good number of those music blogs like to offer free music to entice new readers to subscribe and visit regularly. Yes, you read that right. A majority prefer to embed the media, but there are quite a few that let you download the music directly.

The system isn’t without its caveats, though. Although you do get free MP3 music to download, the selection is often very limited. Because of licensing issues, those sites mostly post just up-and-coming artists trying to promote a single or live performances of mainstream artists. It’s a great resource if you’re a fan who likes to collect every track by a particular artist, but not so great when you want iPod fillers.

It’s still worth it to visit those free music blogs anyway, even if you probably won’t get the next Britney or Rihanna hit there. Those blogs offer you the unbeaten track with its non-mainstream roster of artists and unusual renditions of mainstream music. That and, of course, the free music.
